Pensavo fosse colpa del server, o almeno di thunderbird, ma nemmeno riesco ad impostarla su gmail...

No, dicevo con un altro account. Tipo da hotmail mandi una mail sull'account di SF e vedi se ti torna indietro il messaggio d'errore classico.

era stata disattivata nel passaggio dal server vecchio a quello nuovo perché non era stata usata da molto, molto tempo.
